For your benefit, we do not hire guides simply because they have some prior climbing or guiding experience, or they are just trained or even certified guides. The Sierra Rock Climbing School guides and instructors are our industries best and most qualified members. Our guides and instructors possess all of the following world class attributes: climbing instructor and/or guide certifications, professional climbing guide and/or climbing instructor training, extensive personal climbing experience and skills, a wealth of guided climbing experience, vast amounts of guided climbing knowledge, intimate and extensive local climbing knowledge and local guiding experience, exceptional people skills, teaching skills and flawless guided climbing and instruction safety records. Our guides are not only highly skilled professionals with many years of experience, they are also fun, unique, inspiring and interesting people to spend time with. Our guides have spent many years guiding our clients in the famed Eastern Sierra, Joshua Tree National Park, Red Rock, Castle Rock State Park and Pinnacles National Monument, hence our guides know these areas intimately and care greatly for them. From guiding multi-pitch routes to introductory top rope instruction, our guides and instructors look forward to sharing their knowledge, experience, expertise and time with you!

The Sierra Rock Climbing School is based in the Mammoth Lakes and Bishop area of California, in the heart of the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountain range. A large percentage of our programs are conducted in the Bishop and Mammoth Lakes areas of the Eastern Sierra. Bishop and Mammoth Lakes are located about 2.5 hours from Reno, Nevada, 5.5 hours from Los Angeles, and 5.5 hours from the San Francisco area. We also offer a comprehensive rock climbing instruction and guiding program in Joshua Tree National Park, located only 2.5 hours from Los Angeles and San Diego.  Our programs are also available in the Bay Area at Castle Rock State Park and Pinnacles National Monument located only one half hour from San Jose, Ca and most San Francisco Bay area locations. We also provide rock climbing instruction located literally just a couple minutes drive from the Yosemite National Park Highway 120 east entrance gate!

With your safety and well being as our number one priority, we are a fully insured and permitted service. On top of 3rd party verified climbing guide training and certifications, all of our guides also have formal emergency medical training and certifications. All of our guides and instructors also participate in our own mandatory climbing guide and instructor trainings.

The Sierra Rock Climbing Schools programs implement the highest of standards  for professional rock climbing instruction, rock climbing schools, rock climbing lessons, rock climbing classes, rock climbing courses and rock climbing instructors. All of the Sierra Rock Climbing Schools programs operate in partnership with and under permit from the Inyo National Forest Service and Joshua Tree National Park. The Sierra Rock Climbing Schools programs are conducted on a regular basis in Mammoth Lakes, Bishop and Joshua Tree National Park.
